Pip-Boy 3000

Ripped this from Fallout 3 and been working on this off and on for a few weeks. Did lots of fixes and made the screen look better then what was in the original model.

  3. Looks great! Am I missing the download link, or is this still a WIP? If so, consider this encouragement to continue!

  4. Its still a WIP. Thanks for the encouragement hope I can get it going soon. Sizing is going to me kinda weird. Anyone know what size I should make this. Height and all that good stuff. I guess what I'm asking is what would the life size dimensions be for this thing. Anyone can help that would be great if not I'll figure it out:)

  7. Looking good Evan! I've been in a state of papercraft madness and I'm always looking for more to build, especially models from fallout 3. As for the size, I think at least five inches across would be about right, hope this helps!

  8. thanks for info:) Wanted it to get done before Fall New Vegas and Halloween but I'm thinking that won't happen. Kinda sucks but oh well. Its just all messed up with lots of missing polys and so on.

  9. From looking at screenshots it looks like the pipboy covers about 3/4 of an adult forearm which to me would be about 7 to 8 inches in length. If this lenth results in the inside diameter to be big enough to take an arm then that should do it. I just finished building the Laser Pistol and Alien Blaster and I can't wait to get my paws on this thing. Good work!

  10. I usually do custom resizes on my models anyway so I'll be happy to get this model in any size.

  12. This is something I started I when I was starting to learn how to deal with 3D models. Its kinda sloppy and is much harder than it looks. A lot of empty spaces and just some weird stuff going on with this model. I do play on going back to this and maybe redoing it all sense I know more tricks when it comes to 3D modeling. This has been put off for a while and not sure exactly when I'll go back to it but trust me I want to get it badly as well lol. Also did test with what I fixxed already and in Pepakura it has lots of red lines that don't makes sense to me.
Might go back it to very soon and redo it so its nice and somewhat clean. Got a few more New Vegas papercrafts I want to get done first though.

  18. Any chance you'd be willing to send the 3d models (original, and your refined ones) to me? I'm thinking of getting a 3d print made and it looks like you've done a lot of the leg work already.
